In 2002, PROMEX and SHANGHAI HINT ELECTRONIC CO LTD formed a joint venture to provide a low labor cost offshore migration path for high volume strategic customers. HINT acts as a strategic partner allowing seamless transition to high volume, low cost manufacturing and usefully serves as a gateway for those customers who may be seeking more convenient access to the domestic Chinese market.

PROMEX Silicon Valley operations act as a low to medium volume manufacturing and/ NPI process engineering hub before higher volumes coupled with competitive market forces drive the need for significantly lower assembly cost.

The Silicon Valley headquarters hub allows strategic customers a point of English language communication in a convenient time zone. Process engineering is done locally to improve customer feedback, logistics, customer access and response. NPI is managed from design, layout, parts selection, test and test fixture design, alpha and beta manufacturing runs through medium volume production. Stable high volume production is then seamlessly transferred to Shanghai HINT's synergistic operations.
